The Reverend Dr. Derick Easter is the proud son of Rev. Dr. William and Lorene Easter, continuing a rich family legacy of faithful gospel ministry. He serves as Senior Pastor of New St. Hurricane Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where his passion is to preach God's Word, develop mature disciples of Jesus Christ, equip leaders for ministry, and lead the church in faithfully fulfilling the Great Commission.
Under his leadership, New St. Hurricane Baptist Church has experienced significant spiritual and organizational growth through an intentional emphasis on biblical preaching, discipleship, leadership development, and community engagement. This vision has also led to the creation of a multi-million-dollar youth center, an outreach distribution center, and an outdoor fitness park, providing opportunities to minister to the whole person while sharing the hope of Christ.
A native of Little Rock and graduate of Central High School, Pastor Easter earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating cum laude with distinction, from Philander Smith College, a Master of Public Administration from Webster University, a Master of Ministry from Louisiana Baptist Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Anderson University.
Dr. Easter serves on the faculty of the National Baptist Convention USA Congress of Christian Education and Pastors and Ministers Division. He is a sought-after speaker, equipping pastors, church leaders, and congregations in biblical leadership, ministry development, discipleship, organizational culture, and effective ministry strategy. He also serves as a Project Consultant for the Arkansas Out of School Network, helping strengthen partnerships that benefit children, families, and communities across the state.
Beyond his ministry responsibilities, Pastor Easter enjoys basketball, movies, and a competitive game of spades. He and his wife, Keely, are grateful for God's blessings in their family and are the proud parents of Jasmine and William Seth and grandfather of Kaysen Grey.
